Boe Michael Tankersley | Music, Movement & Minnesota Roots
I’ve taken a few different paths, but curiosity has been a constant. I grew up as the second of eight kids in rural Minnesota, working alongside my dad as a finish carpenter. That early experience gave me an appreciation for hands-on work and the satisfaction of figuring things out—interests that have followed me through healthcare, design, music, and now a growing love of cycling.
These days, I’m settling into a house I recently bought in North Minneapolis near Theodore Wirth Park. Mountain biking and cycling are becoming a bigger part of my life, and having the park nearby feels like a good beginning for this next chapter. Between time on a bike, weightlifting, and yoga, movement remains an important part of my life.
Music is another constant. I play guitar and love being part of the audience for the Twin Cities’ local music scene. This site brings together some of my own acoustic performances and highlights from live Minnesota shows—music I enjoy making and music I want to share.
My professional path led me to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and run my own practice for six years. Helping patients understand their health was one of the most meaningful parts of that work. The health presentations collected here are archives from those practice years. Today, I work with Prysm Connections LLC, coordinating continuing education for surgical societies and managing the cadaveric labs that support hands-on medical training.
I’ve also worked in carpentry, manufacturing, mechanical drafting/CADD, and cabinet making. Woodworking takes a smaller role in my life right now, but it’s something I’d like to make more room for again. I still appreciate the care that goes into a well-made piece and the satisfaction of creating something useful.
Family, music, and time outdoors keep me connected to what I enjoy most. This site is a place to share those interests, keep a few earlier chapters accessible, and leave room for whatever comes next.
